Tales of Carrion Mansion. Episode 11.

Mindy had come to Carrion Mansion to help her friend Elvira babysit Jeremy and Helga. She had ignored Elvira's warning that the twins were dangerous. She now regrets ignoring the warning. So far she has been musically tickled by Uncle Frank, the Invisible Tickler. She then made the mistake of drinking one of Helga's potions. Now Mindy stands barely a foot tall, with wings. Hoping to find a cure for the condition Mindy now waits in the lab, where something strange is happening to Elvira.

Mindy and the Witches Kids

Part 1
(Or part 11 of Elvira and the Witches kids, if you want to get technical)

What do you mean
Sacrifice?

Almost every room in a house has a specific purpose. A bedroom is for sleeping, a living room for family gatherings, a kitchen for preparing food. But there are some rooms in a house that are malleable. Essentially large vacant places, they exist to form themselves according to the whims off the owners.
Carrion Mansion, a semi-victorean structure on the outskirts of town, had many such malleable rooms. In the attic was located a small prison (at the moment vacant). Several rooms were in a state of temporal and dimensional flux. The cellar bellow the main house was used for storage, but far bellow that was a dungeon. Built by Patience Carrion the dungeon was for a time her playroom, then her prison (the dungeon was modified by Gilbert Carrion around the turn of the century) and finally her tomb. Since that time it had been empty, until it was found by the twins Jeremy and Helga Carrion. Now it serves as their laboratory.
"Trouble." Helga said, adjusting a control. She was a cute little girl, with bright green eyes and shoulder length red hair.
"Interference in the carrier wave." Jeremy said, tapping out commands on his keyboard. "We're loosing her."
"What's going on?" Mindy McConnell asked, feeling helpless. The twins were working on a large computer console. To the right of the console was a large platform. On the platform was a nude 7 inch girl. Elvira Peterson. Normally, like Mindy, she was a normal sized girl, but Jeremy had exposed her to an unstable shrinking potion, and was now trying to cure her. The young mad scientist had explained that Elvira was filled with nanites. Broken nanites. Jeremy had told them that the only way to fix the nanites was to teleport one out of Elvira's body, fix it and then put it back in so it could fix the rest. Much to Mindy's surprise Elvira had agreed. Mindy thought her friend was cracked to agree, and now seeing Elvira blink in and out of existence she felt vindicated. Concerned, but vindicated.
"The carrier wave we use in the teleport process is being interfered with." Jeremy said in a matter of fact tone of voice. Someone else seems to be using it."
"Who?"
"I have no idea. Helga?"
"Does Elvira have any enemies who have access to advance technology?"
"Not that I know of." Jeremy said. "Mindy?"
"No!"
"I'll try to trace the signal." Jeremy said. The monitor screen changed to show a map and he moved in front of it, blocking Mindy's view.
Irritated the young girl flapped her wings and hovered over his shoulder. Mindy was there for a few moments before she realized what she was doing.
"By the beard of Odin!" Mindy whispered. She caught sight of her reflection in a shinny portion of the console and drifted over to it. For a moment Elvira, the lab and the world faded from Mindy's mind. The image that looked back at her was not entirely different from the one she had seen most of her life. Mindy normally stood (or towered as Elvira put it) at 5 feet 11 inches and her body matched the height. Buxom, with wide hips and long blonde hair, Mindy was a stunning beauty, with classically chiseled features. Helga's transformation potion had changed a few things, both inside and out. Her hips were slimmer now, her fingers and toes longer. Her breast were still large, but not loose as they had been. According to Helga the mammary glands had been removed entirely and replaced by wing muscles.
Even though they must have been vibrating at an incredible rate to keep her aloft Mindy had no trouble seeing the wings. She merely looked at them hard and they seemed to slow and stop. They were dragonfly like, perhaps a little larger, and created a million rainbows as they moved.
"Their mine." Mindy whispered. It had only been a few hours since Helga had tricked her into drinking the potion, but her new body felt comfortable.
"Excuse me." Jeremy said, shooing her out of the way with his hand.
"Hey!" Mindy protested, flying back to the table.
"I'll try linking into the JLA tracking system." Helga said.
"That's not a good idea." Jeremy replied. "Remember how mad they were the last time we did that?"
"Remember what mother promised to do with us if we lost another babysitter? Especially Elvira?"
"Good point." Jeremy agreed, pushing another button. "It's a good thing their access codes are so simple."
No wonder Elvira told me to stay away, Mindy reflected. But then Elvira told everyone to stay away from all of her babysitting jobs. Mindy had always wondered why, and now she knew.
"And now look at me." she said aloud, drifting down to the lab table. "Tinkerbelle."
"I think I've found it." Jeremy announced.
Something hit Mindy in the but.
"It's scrambled." Helga observed.
The scream of pain and surprise died in Mindy's throat. Something took hold of her arm and turned her around. Before her was a man...sort of. The top half of him was a man, cro-magnon style, with deep set eyes, heavy forehead and wide flat nose. The top half of his body was covered in tattoos, strange symbols that looked vaguely German. His hair was tied into braids and hung down his back. That was as far as the human features reached. The bottom half of him was a four legged spider-like body. His torso was set on it like a child's top on a pin cushion. He put his finger to his lips for silence.
Of course I'll be quiet, Mindy thought. She didn't think much else. The part of her that could think and decide seemed to be absent. There was no revulsion toward the creature, even when he reached toward his stomach and began pulling webbing out of a mouth like opening. Quickly her wings were bound against her body, then her arms. He then laid her down and wrapped her legs together.
Through it all Mindy was bored. Dimly she realized she was in great danger, but calling for help just didn't seem right. A web line was lowered from the ceiling and soon she was rising silently into the shadows.

"Did you hear something?" Helga asked.
"No." Jeremy replied, still busy at the keyboard.
"I think we lost another one." Helga said, looking around.
"One shrunken, transformed, missing babysitter at a time." Jeremy reminded her. Helga shrugged and went back to work.

Mindy was strapped to a long pole (a number 2 pencil really, but she was sad the eraser was gone. A crippled pencil... Mindy started to cry.) and carried through a number of small corridors. Two of the spider men carried her, one at each end, while another led the party with a lit match. The match revealed deeply grained wood with tiny nicks, as if the wood had been chewed. As they passed through the corridors Mindy noticed a few long dead ants here and there. Some of the corpses were decayed, some were mummified in webbing, all produced no reaction in her.
The further along they went the more ant corpses they found, and along with the corpses more spider men. Mindy judged they were sentries, since they were armed with spears but each carried a trumpet. As she passed the trumpet was blown four times.
Nice music, was her only thought.
At last they came to an opening at the end of the corridor. The remains of a flattened Coke can served as a large metal door. Ritually the spider man pounded out a rhythm on the can. Mindy recognized it as the opening theme to Dragnet. The can was moved sideways and they entered another short corridor. That corridor opened into a large hall. Curious Mindy craned her head this way and that. Wooded beams stood on edge and covered with dust and cobwebs ran away from her, composing the roof. Mindy had once spent three months looking at beams like that. Her brother and his friend had once accidentally pulled down the ceiling in her bedroom. Though she never proved it Mindy had been sure they were trying to install a hidden camera. For six months she had looked at the bottom of the floor above.
I'm between floors, Mindy realized. The jigs formed the roof of a great hall, extending far into the shadows. The floor was dusty gray and rough. As the spider men walked forward Mindy saw webbed dwellings spaced evenly among the boards. Each was lit by a small light. Vague movements behind the webs indicated the occupants were home, but she heard very little talk. At length they came to a stop and she looked up.
Seated on a thrown was an old spider man. His fur and hair were gray, the skin pale and wrinkled. One of his eyes was gone, the other pierced her with the intensity of it's gaze. Around him waited various spider men and spider women.
"Great one." the spider man with the lantern bowed.
He talks!? Mindy thought.
"You have done well Malcom." the spider king said. "She will make the supreme sacrifice."
Normally the word: "sacrifice" would have bothered Mindy, but for some reason it didn't.
At a gesture from the old king a pair of spider women walked from behind the thrown. Both were much like the spider men, a human torso placed in the center of a spiders body. Like the spider men they had heavy foreheads, deep set eyes and wide flat noses. The features were a little slimmer, and their hair was done in a braid and wrapped around their throats. Each had four breast, the top two firm and young, the bottom pair flat and loose. A small chain ran from the lower breast to the upper ones. Without a word they took Mindy from the males and carried her into the shadows.

After a brief period of darkness they emerged into a small room. Unlike the corridors or great hall the room was completely clean. The furnishings were from Malibu Stacy toys. A four poster bed, cabinet, draw and mirror, long table and a deep sunken pool. Light came from a flashlight bulb in the ceiling. They laid Mindy on the table and one of the women went over and filled the tub. The other went to the cabinet and took out a small cup of powder. She poured the powder into the water and began to stir. The other woman came over and with the sharp tip of one of her spider legs began to cut the webbing away from Mindy's body.
Now that she was able to get a better look at the women Mindy realized they did not have four breast. What she had taken to be a chain was actually a tube running to small sac under the breast. Something small moved in each sac.
"Lunch and transport." Mindy said as her mouth was freed. The rest of the webbing was cut away and she was free except for her wings. The woman helped her up and guided her across the room the tub. Mindy walked unsteadily, as if it was some thing she knew, but had forgotten.
The water was hot and the transformed girl gave a low moan as she slipped into the tub. For a moment she slipped beneath the surface. One of the spider women took hold of her chin and eased her up. While she held Mindy's face above the water the other spider woman reached below the surface and began to wash her. The rag was rough, but the women were surprisingly gentle as the dust and the remainder of the webbing was washed away. The woman holding Mindy reached over and turned two handles set into the wall. Dirty water began to flow out as more hot water flowed in.
"All I need is a few slaves and some girl feeding me grapes." Mindy whispered. She had never felt so alive in a dream before. Each time the washcloth brushed against her skin it sent a thrill through her body. Each of her long legs was carefully lifted out of the water, stroked and submerged once more. She jumped slightly as the cloth began to rub her vagina. The women laughed, an ugly throaty laugh and held her down. She was turned over, her legs spread and her ass was cleaned as well. Again Mindy was turned over and the women each took turns cleaning and fondling her breast. Her wings, free from the water-disolved webbing, quivered in responce, setting up ripples in the water,
Her hair was the last to be washed. Mindy wasn't sure what they used but it smelled horrible. With the hair done the spider women helped her out of the tub and over to the mirror.
The image that greeted Mindy in the small mirror was somewhat distorted. Her face was slightly changed due to Helga's potion, but the main difference was the complete lack of intelligence in the face. It was her dumb blonde face, Mindy realized. The one she used every so often to get a ride or a favor. The face alarmed her, but only a little. The spider women dried her hair carefully, setting it into a beehive and laced an intricate pattern of webbing around it. The webbing glistened in the light and formed a precise series of triangles and circles. The effect was like a crown of diamonds.
With the hair done the women led her to the bed and laid her down. Then one brought over a small bowl with two brushes in it. Each of the spider women took the brushes and began to write on her. They started at the feet, using a long flowing script. Whether they were writing words or drawing pictures it was impossible to tell. But they were having an effect on Mindy.
She giggled. Then started to laugh.
"Ha, ha....don't.. ha... ha... mispellll...ha" As she talked the transformed girls legs twitched, then jerked. Annoyed one of the women produced more webbing and secured her ankles to the bedpost.
Mindy continued to laugh as they wrote, laughing in a way that she had never laughed before. Usually whenever anybody tickled her Mindy squirmed, or pushed, or at least tickled back. But now the tickling seemed to be more pleasant. She laughed with gusto, enjoying the electric tingles cascading through her nervous system.
However while she was having such a good time the spider women were becoming more and more incensed. Mindy's body quivered and shook so much they had to hold her down, and that became harder the further up her body they went. When they reached her breast one of them had to hold her down while the other quickly wrote.
Then it was over and they let her rest for a few minutes. One of them freed her ankles. Mindy lay there, taking in deep gulps of air. She'd never felt so good in all her life. She'd been tickled before of course, it was one of Elvira's favorite ways of tormenting her if she let in an easy goal. But Mindy now realized that she'd never really been tickled before.
"And I probably never will again." she sighed, remembering the:"Sacrifice" comment.
The spider women walked over to her again and helped the young girl stand up. Then one steadied her from the front while the other took a feather and started to dust off Mindy's wings. Instantly the transformed young girl doubled up with laughter. She fell forward into the spider woman in front and was held against her breast while the other continued to dust. When her wings were clean the spider women led her out the doorway.
"Cool." Mindy said, still giggling. "My wings are ticklish!"

They emerged into the great hall, but it was now a hall full of life. Everywhere Mindy looked she saw spider men, women and children. They danced, laughed drunk and ate. Great tables had been set up and the creatures dug into the bodies of ants with gusto.
For the first time the sight of the spider men and the ants started to penetrate the young girls mind. Revulsion, somehow held in check, began to grow. It was met by a low feeling of anxiety. Like long lost friends the two met and formed fear. The fear was all it took and a blast of adrenaline switched Mindy's mind back on.
"Oh hell." she whispered, for the first time realizing her situation. Fighting down panic the transformed girl let her self be led over to the ancient spider. A finely carved alter had been set up in front of him and Mindy dociley laid down on it. The old spider man sat up and there was a sudden silence in the hall.
"Blessed of Petunia." he called. "For many cycles now the goddess has left us. For many cycles we searched. In every closet, under every bed, in each of the ten sacred garbage cans we searched."
Keep talking pops, Mindy pleaded. Her new eyes pierced the darkness, zooming in and out. There has to be a quick way out of here.
"But when at last we gave up hope, fate delivered into our hands the perfect sacrifice."
Please let him be talking about someone else.
"This creature, created by the sub-god Helga is truly the food of the goddess. Gaze upon her perfect form."
Obediently the entire company of the great hall formed and single line and marched passed her. Each one studying her body.
This is worse than a frat party, Mindy thought. Though in truth she had never been to a frat party, she had seen Animal House though and James Widdoes....
Enough, she interrupted her self. Fighting off the last of the drug with all her might she scanned the hall again. This time she saw a small opening. A brick wall with a few of the bricks removed. Large enough for her, but what was beyond it?
"Bring the sacred sword." the old spider called out. Mindy realized that the last of the spider men had filed past her and now all knelt and chanted. A sword appeared at the other end of the hall and was passed hand to hand until it reached the ancient spider.
Sacred? Mindy thought, it's the sword from a He-Man and the masters of the Universe set. Mindy stared at the sword in amazement. It wasn't even metal. But it was sharp, and she had no idea how strong her new body was. Suddenly Mindy realized that what was beyond the bricks didn't really matter.

"All of us shall partake of this morsal, and the bravest of us she then take the heart and wings to the shrine great goddess." A large spider man, heavily scarred and muscled walked out of the shadows and knelt by the ancient one. "Irving, greatest of all warriors, He shall take the journey to death, so that she might return and protect us." The old man brought the sword up and began to chant. Everyone in the hall bowed and followed the chant. Except Mindy.
With all the strength her wings could muster the young girl took off from the alter and headed straight toward the opening she had seen earlier.
"Stop the sacrifice!" the old man shouted, and immediately spears were thrown at her. Somehow she dodged the spears and the web lines that were thrown her way and made it to the bricks. She was into the wall and zooming up for a few moments before her eyes adjusted to the darkness.
I'm in a chimney, Mindy realized. She heard a shout from bellow and dodged more spears. Then she looked up and realized there were more spiders. A web was being hastily constructed across the top of the chimney. Straining her wings Mindy pushed herself as fast as she could and rammed into it. The web surrounded her like a net, but her wings broke free and she soared into the night sky.

What next for Mindy? Can she get back into the house? Does she want to?

Someday we'll know the answer.
