Shatterhead
Dr. Reiner stood in front of the bounty hunter with a package in his hand.
“Here it is. This is everything I took and all of my reports.”
“Have you discovered any other information since we last spoke
doctor?”
“No. You do realize I had barely enough time to do the preliminary tests
that I told you about earlier. I’m sorry but that’s all I was able
to discover. I did the best I could.” Replied Dr. Reiner.
“Of course you did doctor. With what is at stake for you I would
never doubt your motivation. Everything is in the package right? I would
hate to discover that something was missing from it.”
“Everything I did is in there. My basic reports and discoveries and
of course the samples I took from the …..the subjects.”
The Cloud picked up the package and put it with the duffel bag holding his
money. “Looks like this arrangement seems to have worked out
Doctor. It was a pleasure working with you.”
“What about my family?” asked the Doctor.
Suddenly there was a thump at the door behind them. It was the door holding
Whisper prisoner. The Cloud whirled around and looked at the monitor and
was shocked to see her trying to knock the door down. Thankfully it was only
video and not audio.
“What happened? She recovered so quickly. Where is the Inhibitor,
doctor!!!”
The Cloud typed something into his laptop, and hit enter. Suddenly the number
5 appeared and began to countdown. He leapt out of his chair and launched
himself towards the doctor.
“I don’t know what happened!!!” yelled the Dr. Reiner. “MY
FAMILY, PLEASE!!!!!”
The Cloud ran towards the door as the laptop showed SUBMISSION SENT and then
seemed to black out and die. He reached towards a red button, looked at the
button and said, “A deal is a deal” and pushed the button.
“NO, NO , NOOOOOOO” the doctor wailed.
With that the Cloud grabbed the package and the duffel bag and raced out
the door into the night.
Dr. Reiner could hear Whisper slamming the door. It was creaking now and
would give any second. He yelled, “I’m opening it” and threw
the lever.
On the other side of the door Whisper was worried about a trap. When she
saw the door begin to open she stood by the side of the door and yelled,
“Stand still and put your arms up in the air!” She didn’t
hear anything. She inched her way towards the door and saw a man standing
there in a lab coat with his arms in the air.
“Who are you?” she asked.
“I’m Dr, Reiner.”
“What are you doing here?”
“He kidnapped my family and brought me here to help him get samples
from all of you”
“How did I get my power back?” she asked.
“I rigged the device to implode after a certain amount of time.”
Answered the doctor.
“Where are my friends?” Whisper asked the Doctor.
“They are in the two rooms connected to this room. The other one is
down in the catacombs with my son and wife.” He began to tear up.
“Why are you getting upset?”
“They will die! We need to save them. Please, please help them!”
he pleaded.
“I have to save my friends up here first. Then we’ll deal with
the catacombs,” she said. She needed to save the other two first. There
was no other way.
Whisper walked over to one of the doors and said, “How do I open
this?”
Dr. Reiner replied, “I can do it, let me go into the control room.”
“Go.”
He ran back towards where she met him. A second later the door in front of
her opened.
“EVERYONE STAND STILL” shouted Whisper.
Javier Arroyo stood still in the middle of the room. Whisper saw the body
of Dragon lying nude on the table.
“RELEASE HER AT ONCE” demanded Whisper.
Arroyo walked over and loosened the cord around her neck. She had a nasty
red crease where it had choked her. He then released her arms.
“GET AWAY FROM HER” said Whisper.
She ran over to Dragon. Thankfully she was breathing. Her eyes opened and
suddenly she jumped up.
“It’s ok, it’s ok. It’s over.”
Dragon turned on Arroyo, but Whisper grabbed her arm. “Not now, not
now. We have to save Lightning.”
Whisper said to Arroyo “When that door opens you will enter that room
and do whatever you need to do to free the woman in there without harming
her. Do you understand?”
“Si” answered Arroyo.
Whisper yelled back towards Reiner to release the next door.
The door slid open and Arroyo reached behind him, pulled something out and
stormed into the room.
Hugo spun around when he heard the door open and said “What the
….”. That sound was followed by a quick popping sound.
Lou Lou turned toward Hugo when he heard the door open thinking it was something
Hugo did. Suddenly Hugo had a round circle in his forehead. His eyes rolled
up into his head and he fell backwards. Lou Lou spun to face the attacker,
reaching for his pistol, but before he could turn he was already getting
hit. Arroyo’s gun fired four times striking Lou Lou in the chest each
time.
When Dragon and Whisper entered the room they saw the carnage. There was
blood everywhere, flowing into the water drain underneath the nude body of
Lightning. Dragon saw her yellow mask lying on the floor near her boot and
picked it up. She walked behind the heroine and placed it over her head and
on her face. Her identity was safe once more.
“Get her down from there.” Said Whisper.
Arroyo removed the cuffs and gently brought her down to the floor. The other
two heroines picked her up and moved her away. Lightning’s eyes opened,
looked at the others and said, “What took you so long?”
“Thank God you’re ok. Hey you, drop the gun and go stand in the
corner and don’t move until the cops handcuff you.”
Arroyo dropped the gun and walked into the corner to wait for the police.
“Where’s Midnight?” asked Lightning.
“We’re going to get her now” answered Dragon.
“Well, what are we waiting for, let’s go ladies” replied Lightning
as she stood up.
With that the three heroines ran back towards the control room.
