The Hotel Pt 2

As the old couple stayed glued to the image on the screen, their latest victim lay on the bed dreaming. "I think it's time for a nice warm bath." Black Dahlia slowly peeled off her sheer costume, standing in the dimly lit bathroom completely naked. It wasn't easy creating the suds, but after a few minutes the foam rose on top of the hot water, inviting the Super Heroine into the tub. "Ahhhhh...this is heaven." She sank back into the warm water resting her black tresses on the high back of the old fashion tub.

"Zeke, you shouldn't be watching this." Martha jabbed the old man in the shoulder.

"It's all in the name of research." He chuckled to himself as he stared at the magnificent image on the screen.

Her reverie is interrupted by a face appearing in the ceiling. "What is that?" She jolted upwards, startled by what she saw.

It was the face of a young woman. "Leave this place...there is evil here." The ghostly image pronounced and then  quickly disappeared.

"What happened Zeke?" The old lady looked perturbed.

"Just a little glitch. Everything will be fine, just keep watching." He was sure his formula would work this time.

"Whew, that was strange?" Since her bath was interrupted Black Dahlia decided to exit the comfort of the warm water, but as she started to lift out of the tub..."What was that?" She wondered and for a second her eyes caught sight of something on the floor. "I saw something." Once again she started to get out, but once again she sighted something crawling on the floor. "Oh..nooo."

"See Martha, it's working. It's working on one of the Director's Super Heroines." Zeke would have jumped for joy, except his eyes remained riveted to the screen.

"That looked like a snake." The vaunted powerful Super Heroine shrunk back into the tub. "It can't be a snake." Once again the creature squirmed across the floor, but this time it raised it's head and hissed in the Heroine's direction. NO..PLEASE NOT A SNAKE!" She was now standing in the water with her arms spread against the wall behind her. The snake wriggled towards the tub, and it seemed to be growing, until it's large head lifted up over the lip of the tub. "TAKE IT AWAY, SOMEONE PLEASE TAKE IT AWAY."

Zeke looked at the dials. "Her pulse and blood pressure are going wild. Check the other room."

Martha came back. She's shaking so bad, the electrodes might come off."

Back at the screen, the snake was still growing, it's tongue flicking out, nearly touching the frightened Super Heroine. "AAAAGGGHHH...NOOOO!!" Her eyes rolled back in her head, her body completely relaxed. Next, her legs crumbled, sending the swooning Dahlia slipping down and into the sudsy water, where she fainted away into darkness. "Unnnnnnn" The screen went dark.

"I did it Martha, I did it." Zeke jumped for joy. "For years I've watched you so called Super Heroines with your superior attitudes pass by. But now you don't look so superior." He went into the other room where the Black Dahlia lay sleeping on the bed. Peering down at her, he now knew how to get the upper hand. He knew her vulnerability. "She has a desperate fear of snakes."

Waking the next morning, Black Dahlia had a bad headache. "Whew, that was some dream I had."

Martha knocked and then entered. "Here's a robe. You might be more comfortable wearing it at breakfast. "Oh and I drew you a nice hot bath." The old lady placed the robe on the bed and left.

After putting on the robe, the Super Heroine, declined the bath, and went downstairs, placing her costume on the back of a chair. "Good morning, everything smells so good." She sauntered into the dining room with the confidence of a Super Heroine.

"Did you have a good night's sleep." Zeke asked, but he knew the answer.

Black Dahlia hesitated, but then avoided the question by commenting on the food. "Yes, Martha is an excellent cook." Zeke gave the woman a knowing smile, as a snake wriggled through the doorway in the direction of the Heroine. "AHHHHH...there's a snake." She jumped up from the table, tipping over her chair.

"Oh, it's nothing more than a harmless Garter Snake. Picking up the small snake he approached the cringing woman. "See it's harmless."

"Please take it away." Black Dahlia moved back into Martha's waiting grasp "NOMMMDDNNT" She weakly grabbed for the wet rag being thrust onto her face, but all her attention was still focused on the snake being held by Zeke. Breathing hard from fear, her lungs quickly filled with the chloroform fumes. “NOMMMM” As Zeke waved the wriggling creature close to Dahlia, she began to lose focus from too much of the drug.

"You shouldn't be afraid of my little friend." His voice became garbled, and her limbs became numb.

Martha lowered her heavy burden onto the floor, but kept the rag on her face. "That was almost too easy." She commented, looking down at the helpless, sleeping Heroine. "What's next?"
