Castle In The Sky - Part 2

This is the second 'chapter' of the story of the relationship between the wizard Vladi and the superheroine Supergirl. This takes story takes place two years after my story "When Vladi Met Kara".

As before, Supergirl is owned by DC and Warner Entertainment, while Vladi the Wizard is owned by me. Any other similarities between subjects are strictly coincidental, sort of. Usually. Maybe. Well, with the way that one can interact with various dimensions, one never knows who one will run into, and if those people are the same ones that we may of heard about from before. Right?

Chapter Five - Greeting An Uninvited Guest

Half a second later, and a million miles away in another time and place, after Supergirl flew-fell through a strange blue tunnel of spinning light that was both up and down and all around at the same time and slammed into the back of Vladi, catching him completely by surprise and sending him tumbling into the room of his tower that he had just stepped into.

"Gaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!" the wizard cried out in pain and shock as he took the hard impact that sent him head over heels in the tower's entry hall where he had just stepped through his dimensional door. He dipped his shoulder to come up to face his attacker, bringing his hands up in front of him as he finished his roll on his knees. He didn't wait to figure out exactly who or what assaulted him, because in the realm of magic warfare, hesitation killed. He didn't have time to think of a particular or fanciful spell, and just let loose with a simple spell of magical power, sending a wave of some of the powerful energy that he always had stored within him towards the figure in blue and red which he saw was the intruder to his tower when he had finished his tuck and roll.

"UUuuugggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!" Supergirl groaned as she felt herself picked up and slammed backwards into the stone wall of the round chamber that she had found herself in after falling out of the strange blue energy field. She had immediately realized that she had been moving too fast to stop herself from hitting into Vladi, and sending him crashing further into the room in which he had stopped in front of her. Before she could do anything, like get up herself to help him, or to apologize from running into him, he had twisted himself to land facing her, and from his open hands facing her, invisible energy had slammed into her chest, lifted her off the ground and sent her sailing into the wall. She could feel the stone behind her cracking and splintering from the impact of her invulnerable body impacting with the rock, as if it was drywall instead of three foot thick stone.

And, it hurt! Supergirl was more surprised than seriously hurt because only two things could really hurt her. One was kryptonite, and there was none anywhere nearby that she could immediately feel. And, the second was magic! There was no doubt about it in her mind now. While she had some part of her brain wondering if what she had seen him do two years really happened, the pain in her back and shoulders from impacting the thick stone walls told her that the magic that he had was all too real.

Vladi's eyes widened as he saw who it was that had attacked him. He almost paused to find out what she was doing here, but he felt that it would be safer for himself to make sure that she was neutralized before he asked her any questions. He muttered and brought his hands together, and made a movement of the hands to rub around each other quickly as Supergirl slide down the wall to plant her feet on the floor in front of him.

She looked at him with a mix of surprise and regret, which turned to shock when a pair of ghostly disembodied hands flew from the mages hands. Kara discovered that though she could see through the large hands that Vladi had conjured, that they were very solid when they had grabbed ahold of her wrists. They were powerfully strong, as if she was grabbed by her cousin, Kal-El! She did not know that their power was in proportion to not only Vladi's magical abilities, but his willpower, as well.

Vladi motioned and directed the hands holding Supergirl to yank her arms up and out to the sides and over her head, lifting her up into the air, and pressing her wrists back against the stone wall above the place where she had just a couple seconds before slammed into and caused heavy damage to several of the stone blocks of his tower.

"Vladi! Stop! I didn't mean to hurt you! That was an accident! I swear!" Kara called out as she felt herself leaving the floor. She didn't try to use any of her powers to try to escape his magical hold, and didn't want to hurt him. So, she relaxed and didn't fight against the strange hands holding her, to let him know that she wasn't there to fight him.

The entry room of the tower was not all that large, and the wizard moved up closer to his captive, keeping his spell active, still cautious though not exactly worried. Kara noted that he walked with a slight limp, favoring his left leg, and felt a twinge of guilt for injuring him, when all she wanted to do was to talk to him. Well, she knew that she would have that chance now.

"Supergirl, this is certainly a surprise. I cannot say that I had not wanted to see you again, but the manner of this meeting is something that I do not entirely approve of," Vladi stated as he stopped before the dangling superheroine. He slowly looked her over from her long blonde hair down to her feet in their red slipper shoes.

"I'm sorry, Vladimire. I wanted to talk to you, but had to fly extremely fast to catch up to you. Unfortunately, I couldn't stop myself when I flew into your... your... ahhh.... what exactly WAS that??" Supergirl asked. She did not fail to notice the way that his eyes had taken her in, and was sure that the way that her breasts and torso was well displayed for him with the way that her hands were held over her head.

"That, which you flew into, was a magical doorway, of sorts. That specific one was between this room here in my tower and your Earth."

"What do you mean 'your Earth'?" she asked as she looked around the room for the first time. It looked like an entry hall of an old castle that one would see on old movies about knights and dragons and wizards. Stuff from legends and fairy tales. But, such things were all too real now. Weren't they?

"Oh, I just mean that we are not on Earth at this time. We are presently in my tower, which is in a place outside of your Earth. Indeed, outside of your .. ahhh... realm, for the lack of a better term."

Supergirl frowned a bit before pulling her attention from the room and back to the intensely pale blue eyes of Vladi. The room was spartan, neat and clean, with a few wooden chairs and a number of tables and shelves with books and scrolls upon them. The room was well lit and comfortably warm, which surprised her considering that she only saw a few torches in floors stands and wall sconces, and certainly not enough to effectively light the round room so completely and evenly as it did.

"So, where are we, exactly?" Kara asked, her super senses starting to detect the differences in the taste and smell of the air, as well as the feel of gravity upon her. She still had her super powers, which was a relief to her, but she was confused by how things were feeling so subtly different to her. It took her another moment to realize that she did not feel the influence of the Earth's star, Sol. That could explain some of the strangeness of her environment that she was detecting with her super senses. She realized that they were not affected as they would be under kryptonite, which she found as a huge relief, but that still didn't explain exactly where she was. Which was not upon the Earth. Indeed, no longer even in the solar system of Sol.

"I think the best way to describe it, at least as far as my understanding of your particular words and phrases, is a place between dimensions. Here is where I am building my ... home." the wizard answered. At least, it was going to be his home when it was finished. For how long, that really depended upon how much stimulation and excitement he found from the nearby planes. Seeing Supergirl before him, and feeling her within his powers, made him feel as if such a stay could be rather long indeed.

"I thought you lived on Angel Island, Vladimire," Kara answered immediately, then realized that she shouldn't of said that by the look on his face. As far as he knew, up until now, she had not been paying attention to him or his activities in the past couple of years.

"That is one of my ... abodes, yes. But, this will be, when it is completed, my primary residence," the mage remarked in return. He took her in with a slightly different light, now that he knew that she had been apparently following his movements, as he had been following hers. Was her watching of him on the same level as his watching of her, he wondered? Was she as fascinated with him, the same way that he was with her?

Kara was starting to feel a bit uncomfortable, not physically in the manner that she was being held, but by the manner in which the mage was looking at her. She pulled up a bit against the hands holding her, not struggling against them as much as adjusting her shoulders and chest, which she saw made his gaze drop from her face to her chest. Her heart beat a bit faster in her chest and she felt a flush across her cheeks as her hearing picked up the increase in his heart rate, which she knew was not brought about by his appreciation of her "S" emblem at her left breast.

"Umm... Vladi... are you going to let me down?" she finally was able to say, after several long and disquieting moments of nothing by eye movements between the two of them, both of them reaching out towards the other with their senses to ascertain what the other was thinking. Kara tried to keep her legs from shifting about under her as she hung there against the wall, not wanting him to think that she was too nervous or scared, but more that she was afraid of what such a movement may portray about her. That she was starting to get a little wet.

Chapter Six - Elephants In The Room

Vladi considered that for a moment. He could feel Kara's wrists under his hands, as he was connected to his magical constructs, and felt what they felt. He could tell that she wasn't resisting him, so he wasn't worried about her attacking him at the moment. He did like the feel of her, holding the world's most powerful woman. It was giving him a strange sort of thrill, that he wanted to investigate further. But, at the same time, he didn't want to seem overly rude to his captive. He also was very aware of how she looked in her blue and red costume, where every thing was tight and form fitting, except for her red slipper shoes, her red cape, and her blue puffy sleeves.

"Yes, of course," he replied finally, moving his hands down and making an opening motion with his fingers, so that Supergirl was lowered gently to the floor and then the ghostly hands released her wrists. He motioned again and the hands flew out of sight. He kept them nearby and in mental connection, just in case he would need them right away, and it would save the time in re-casting a spell and using up more of his stored mystical energy.

"Thank you, Vladimire," Kara answered as she rubbed her wrists a moment, adjusting the cuffs of her loose sleeves, as the giant hands had moved them up on her forearms a bit. She found it hard to look away from his intensive eyes, and yet forced herself to do so, to check around the entry room, a bit more carefully now to see where she was, no longer seeing the ghostly hands that had held her, and believed that they had now been dissipated or dispelled. She then shifted her concentration to activate her x-ray vision, and took in the area that she found herself in, extending her vision from near to far as she did so. What she saw, or rather did not see, surprised her. It was if the place that they were at was floating on a piece of nothingness. She could see the tower that they were in, and the grounds where things were being constructed and built. But, beyond the grounds of the home that Vladimire was referring to, there was nothing. Not empty fields, or empty lots, or even space. Just nothing.

"So, why did you want to talk to me," the mage asked, drawing her eyes back to his, after waiting a moment to allow her to look around with her special eyesight. He stayed where he was, not moving an inch from his position just before her, and out of reach of her. But, he knew that with her amazing super speed, she could grab him in an instant and that there was nothing that he could do now to stop her. Of course, he could bring the magic hands into play, but that was only if he still had the mental acuity to do so. But again, with her super speed, it would be most probably after the fact of anything that she decided.

"The police are looking for you. They want to question you about some thefts," Kara answered, glad now to have her mind on something that she could easily understand. She started stepping forwards from the wall and towards Vladi, who took a step back at the same time, obviously still unsettled after their dramatic collision just moments before. So, she stopped and gave him a reassuring smile, now a step away from the wall, which she was feeling a bit uncomfortable standing up against. She felt a bit better without the smooth stone against her back, as if she had no place to go. She tried to keep her mind away from the fact that she had no idea how to leave this ... place between dimensions.

Vladi furrowed his brow a bit, thinking that over. He hadn't thought that he had stolen anything, but he was still a long way away from understanding the laws and customs of this time/place Earth. He then sighed as understanding came to mind, and nodded.

"Vonny and Greg."

"What? Who? Oh, are they the thieves?" Kara asked, having seen that type of look in many of her interrogations in the past, when someone gives up the name of who was really to blame for a problem. She was relieved that he didn't admit that he was the thief, as she didn't want to arrest him (as a deputized agent of the US Federal Marshals, which gave her power to arrest anyone in the United States), though she then briefly wondered if she had any jurisdiction here, between dimensions, if indeed that was were they were.

"Yes, I believe so. I have had them looking for things for me to sell for your local currency." Vladi admitted. He was starting to realize that things were much different on this plane than others that he had live and operated upon. Part of the 'problem' that he had failed to take into consideration, and not for the first time, was just how heavily populated this world was. And, the higher the population, the more regulations that governments place upon the populace, and thus the more people that they have to govern them bureaucratically, which in turn meant more resources given to law enforcement.

"So, you WERE the person that was at the pawn shops selling stolen property?!" Supergirl blurted out, more towards herself than towards Vladi, who had now personally confirmed what the police had been accusing him of. She saw that his answer to that was a slight shrug, which she took to mean a confirmation to his admission.

"I never asked them where they got those things. I really thought that they had just found them here or there. I mean, there is so much litter on your lands, that I believed that such things would be part of the flotsam and jetsam of your civilization, things that your people just normally discarded." He realized that he was mistaken in that assumption, but considering how often he saw people throwing so much away, so much so that they had dedicated trucks that went house to house on a regular basis to pick up what people threw away. And, that was not even including what he saw on the streets and in the gutters, where people threw away things from their vehicles, be they on the ground or the water. Is Supergirl now saying that taking things that had already been discarded was theft, or was it that he should of given clearer instructions to the twins, as it was becoming more apparent that they had been gathering items that had not been discarded?

Supergirl gaped at him, sensing that he honestly believed that people would throw away expensive watches and jewelry like they discarded empty soda cans and candy wrappers. Of course, she shouldn't be too surprised by him and his beliefs. After all, she first met him after her just appeared in the middle of the air high above San Francisco and falling from nowhere. The more she learned about this mysterious magic user, the more she truly understand that he was NOT from this world.

"So, ummm... who are Vonny and Greg? And, where will I be able to find them?" Kara then asked, moving the questioning away from him towards the actual thieves. She didn't think that she would have any difficulty arresting them. After all, she was Supergirl! The only things that she couldn't do was those things that she didn't want to do! The wizard looked at her in an odd sort of way, as if he was weighing something in his mind, before nodding.

"All right, Supergirl. I will bring them in to meet you," Vladi stated, before he said something that she wasn't quite able to understand. It was a strange language, which was a sing-song type of mix that seemed part Egyptian and part Gaelic. However, it was neither, and she was pretty sure that she had never heard it's like on Earth before.

"Wait a minute. They are here??" Supergirl asked but instead of being answered by the wizard, she was answered by an odd flapping noise, that she took at first to be bats. But, as the sound got closer, she was able to discern four wings, and thus two creatures. And, from the sound of the beating of the wings against the air, much larger than any bats that she had heard before. A few moments later she gasped and moved back a step from the doorway that two strange creatures, both the size of large cats and sporting bat-like wings flew through, both landing onto a wall shelf next to the mage.

"Supergirl, meet Vonny and Greg!"

The superheroine wasn't sure if she wanted to faint, puke or scream when the two imps looked at her... and grinned.

Chapter Seven - With Thieves Like These ...

Kara had no idea what those creatures were. All that she knew is that they were grotesque and disgusting. Being no larger than large cats, and able to fly with strange bat wings, she knew that they were not of Earth. They had green toad like skin, which was spotted with lumps and bumps along their bodies as if their own bodies were trying to escape their skin. They had sharp yellow claws at the end of very nimble and dexterous fingers, as well as shorter but no less sharp claws at the end of their feet, which were reminding her of monkey paws. But, it was their blood red eyes that seemed to radiate evil and menace that she found the most disturbing. There was an intelligence in them, and the way that they grinned at her, made her think of hyenas that were closing in on a crippled gazelle. And, the way that they were looking at her, made Supergirl feel as if she was that gazelle.

"Supergirl!" Vonny exclaimed as he landed on the shelf, seeing before him the colorfully dressed flying woman that his master had often been seen watching.

"Master, she is here!" Greg followed up, as he rocked on the shelf next to his brother, filled with excitement of the conclusion of a successful hunt. The pair knew that Vladi had been watching this woman from his scrying tools on many an occasion, so was obviously looking to get her into his castle. And now, here she was, standing there in front of them. To them, she was just another human female, though certainly one that was deemed to be one of the most beautiful of their species, with long golden blonde hair, a very firm and athletic body with long legs and a shapely bust and rear. They could feel their masters strong sexual attraction for the female, and that made them feel all the more excited, though they personally did not see her as being attractive to them.

"Yes, I know that she is here. Thank you, Greg." the mage answered with a slight roll of his eyes and with a tone to his voice that one gave to an imbecilic child. But, he knew that they weren't children, even though they were of the size of a large infant. They were both hundreds of years old, and could even be older than he was, though he wasn't entirely sure of that. But, considering how age and longevity worked between the various multiverse dimensions, one could argue any age. Still, while they were physically old, and very intelligent, they were mystical creatures that had ways all of their own, and that social graces (at least in current Earthly standards) were not one of them. Many times they spoke in a quite literal sense, and other times in a manner that was so vague that it would take years of study to figure out what they meant, if one could figure out such things at all. Thus were the minds of imps, Vladimire sighed to himself.

Supergirl looked over at the wizard, thankfully finally tearing her eyes away from those things that at once nauseated her, while at the same time fascinated her. Had Vladi been watching her? If not, why did the creatures know who she was?

"Vladimire, how do they know my name? I have never seen such things..." she paused when she heard a sharp intake of air and soft warning hissing from the imps. "Sorry, such creatures..." after another pause without any reaction, she took it that creatures were better than things in the imps minds, "... before in my life."

"No, I don't think you would have. Though, I have been continually amazed by your particular skills and abilities these past couple of years," the mage answered the beautiful superheroine. While he considered her as the most beautiful human (he thought of Kryptonians humans, as well, even though they were not Earthlings, which many considered as the sole definition of human) that he had ever seen. Thus, the imps were very aware of how Vladi felt about the blonde woman, they did not share his concepts of beauty. However, they were under his control, so they knew that she was something that their master desired. And, as there was a magical connection between them and their master, they felt that desire, as well. However, as imps, which are basically creatures of evil, the desire that the magic user felt for Supergirl was corrupted in their hearts.

"What do you mean, that you don't think that I would have?" Kara then asked. She knew from the past that this man, while not outwardly deceptive, did have a degree of honor in which he prided himself in personal honesty. However, one had to ask the correct question in the correct manner if one was to get such truth from him. Of course, that implied that he would actually answer the question given to him, but to this time, he had never seemed to not want to give her the answers to questions that she has asked of him.

"It is just that imps, which is what Vonny and Greg are, cannot be seen on your Earth, unless they want to be seen. Or, of course, unless one has the ability to see them," he answered. But, such beings that could see the imps were mystical creatures as well, such as brownies or fairies, or the like, or magic users like himself, and he hadn't run across any in his travels on this plane to this time.

Kara wasn't sure how to respond to that, as she considered what he said. She was becoming more aware of just how little she actually knew about the wizard, and magic, and such ignorance was something that she was starting to realize was something that she needed to take care of. But, how did one learn about something from someone who kept such knowledge as close to the vest, as it were, as Vladimire did? She looked again at the two green creatures, the imps, and suppressed a shudder, and wondered if she really wanted to actually know such answers.

"I ... see. So, the person, errr, persons responsible for these thefts that I have been asked to look into are actually ... Vonny and Greg," Kara asked, pointing to the two.

"I am Greg..."

"... and, I am Vonny," the two responded as one, correcting Supergirl as she pointed towards them. Of course, Kara did not really care which one was which, as she didn't care to know anything more about the disgusting little creatures. They both looked identical to her, though she was sure that if she looked close enough she could find distinguishing differences. However she did not want to examine them closely.

Supergirl was not aware that the pair was more than capable of actually detecting how she felt about them, as most anyone that saw them felt that way. The pair were not very happy in being thought of as disgusting things by the superheroine, and were starting to think of her as a potential foe, or enemy, even though their master did not actually feel that way about her.

Vladi the wizard could sense what the pair of imps were feeling. Indeed, his magical connection to them allowed him to share their senses, if he concentrated enough. As it was, he didn't have to concentrate too much because of their closeness, so he was starting to share the feelings that the imps were having. Such was the connection that they had over the many years of their relationship that the three had a symbiotic sharing of thoughts and feelings and desires that they actually subtly changed or adjusted those of the others. Thus it was, that the mage started to see Supergirl as a possible adversary against him and his goals, which started to shade and color the desire that he had for the fabulous Supergirl.

Of course, the imps, being evil, definitely saw Supergirl, a being of good, as being contrary to their nature, and though the wizard was attracted to, and wanted to impress the blonde superheroine, the imps did not. Indeed, they felt a conflict in their nature because they strove to make their master happy, but at the same time, they could not be something that they were not. With the wizard, it was much more complicated than for the imps. He understood what they were, and accepted them for what they were, which were evil demon spawn. He had no problems with associating with them, or with using them.

Vladi was neither good, nor evil. He was one of those that strode the greyness between the two extremes. Yes, there were times that he did good, but there were also those times that he did things that could be considered evil. Much of what he recognized about good and evil had nothing to do with actual good or evil, but with how a particular society gauged particular acts and actions. There are things that he has done on one plane that he was thanked for, while on another plane the same thing would get him drawn and quartered, to say the least. Thus, over the centuries, he had stopped trying to follow any particular path, but that of his own. What he wanted to do, and when he wanted to do it was the best path for him that he had determined. Some would say such was a bow to chaos, while others would say that he strode the fence between good and bad, and thus was neutral between the two. He saw that as a pretty good understanding of what he was like, with him jumping that fence between good and evil acts, depending upon the winds of fate and his mood.

That was not to say that the wizard was not influenced by others around him. As a wizard, and open to mystical energies, he was susceptible to subtle flows of the currents of positive and negative powers, especially those that were close to him, such as from the imps that he allied himself with.

"I'm sorry," Kara apologized to the two imps for misidentifying them. She hoped that she wouldn't have to be around them that much longer, and was starting to think about the best way to get out of this mess. She knew that she couldn't very well bring in a pair of green skinned gremlins to the police department and state that they were the thieves that they were looking for, even if it was the truth. Police departments had a hard enough time accepting supers like herself, and she looked just like they did. Human. But, they would certainly not accept these creatures. If they made her skin crawl, she could only fear what they may make the humans feel like.

"Well, this makes things quite difficult for me, Vladimire. The police are wanting me to bring you in to them to question about the thefts. As you have said, Vonny and Greg here are the culprits of these thefts, of which, I would think that you profited from?" Supergirl asked of the wizard, though it was not a question as much as a statement given in a question form. A question that she already knew the answer to, which was confirmed by the mage's nod of assent.

"Such will mean that you are, in the law's eyes, guilty of conspiring with these... err... with Vonny and Greg in these thefts. This would, in the eyes of the police, " and her own she to say, but decided not to, because as an agent of the law, that would be a point that was recognized, and understood, by all in the room, "mean that you are just as guilty of the thefts as are Vonny and Greg. Equally." Now she had to worry about bringing him in, one way or another. But, part of the problem that she faced, was that she did not know where she really was.

Chapter Eight - You Have Me Surrounded... Right Where I Want You!

Vladi knew that their relationship has taken a dramatic turn, from one of being concerned acquaintances, to now being friendly opponents. At least, he believed that she was still seeing him in a friendly manner, as her gaze upon him did not seem as much antagonistic as worrying. But, was she worried for herself, or for him, the mage wondered. Perhaps a bit of both, which would make her an even more special of a person, which only increased his fascination of the lovely superheroine.

"I see. Yes, that would make sense, as I understand in your social parameters," he carefully said, knowing that this next series of statements between the two could have very strong and long lasting implications to the future of their relationship. He knew that he wasn't a villain that she often countered for the betterment of Earth, but nor was he a hero who was seen as an ally to her. He considered himself more as a seeker of knowledge, which all wizards were, but with an exploratory outlook, thus making him an adventurer of sorts. Thus, he didn't see himself as either a friend, nor an enemy to Supergirl. He really wasn't sure what he was exactly wanting from her, other than to find out more about her, as she was something that he had never known before. Yes, he knew of super creatures and mystical beings of varying abilities and power levels, but never a goddess of Krypton.

"So, what would you like me to do," he than asked, putting the ball back into Supergirl's court, as the humans often referred to in regards to such careful (and often complicated) verbal sparring. He was more curious as to how Supergirl would take the conversation, and on what she was hoping to accomplish. Vladi was not worried about anything coming about that would be detrimental to him, because he had all the time in the world to correct any problems for him. At least, here on this plane between planes where his abode was he did.

"Well, the police would like to ask you questions about this situation, Vladimire," Kara answered, looking him in his eerily blue eyes. She found it hard to keep her mind on track, so spoke slowly so that she didn't stammer or hesitate. "So, I think that the best thing for you to do, would be to go with me to the county sheriff's office, and turn yourself in to them."

"The county sheriff? So, it is not the metropolitan police that you are working for, Supergirl?" the wizard asked, curious as to the political dynamics of the local police agencies. He did understand the concept of cities versus counties versus states versus nations, and that each of those jurisdictions could have conflicting laws and regulations.

"Yes, because several cities have been looking into this issue, and the San Francisco Sheriff's Department has taken lead in this particular investigation." the blonde superheroine answered. She was becoming more aware of the imps at her back, feeling their gaze upon her. They were making her more and more uncomfortable, so she made sure that she kept facing Vladimire. However, it seemed like he was starting to get a bit agitated as well. She could sense that his heart rate was starting to elevate (more than it already was, which always seemed to happen when she was around him), and that he was seeming to fidget. It almost was like he was needing a coffee or nicotine fix, but he was just as polite as ever.

Vladi looked past Supergirl to the imps that sat upon their perch behind her, and the look in their eyes as they glared at her. Usually they were studies of impassivity, but now they were looking at her with obvious dislike. He felt it would be best if he got her away from them as soon as possible, since she was such a good person, and they were creatures of evil. And, because, at the same time, he could feel their influence upon his emotions, and he could feel himself starting to become more agitated.

"Very well, I will go with you to talk to the Sheriff's Department, Supergirl." And, with that he stepped to the side and motioned to open up a dimensional doorway.

Supergirl gaped as she saw the wizard perform his magic. She had been the recipient of his magic before, and had seen a dimensional gateway, but from this angle when it was just being created. She watched as a small ball of blue energy came into being in the middle of the air before her, then started to spin. As it spun, the energy stretched and flattened out, until it was a giant horizontal blue plate of pulsating blue power. This was magic! This was the type of power that she had no defenses against, just like with kryptonite. But, with kryptonite, she usually knew what she was getting with that, with the exception of red kryptonite, of course. But magic, there were so many things that it could do, and be, that she knew that she could never truly understand it. But, Vladimire could, and did, and she came to understand that he could be extremely dangerous to her.

"That is very wise of you, Vladimire. I will certainly do my best to make sure that they understand that you are coming in voluntarily, to take care of this situation." Kara assured the wizard. He didn't look too concerned to her, though. But he gave her a small smile, as to reassure her that he would be alright, and nodded.

"Thank you, Supergirl. Now, it you will take my hand, the journey will go much smoother than the last journey that you took through the last doorway," the wizard said with a slight chuckle.

Kara smiled in return as she took the mage's offered hand. It was good to know that he had a sense of humor, and was apparently not holding a grudge about her crashing into him earlier. He gave her hand a bit of a squeeze and stepped forwards into the blue energy, and she stepped with him, and into the torrent of magical energy.
