When Vladi Met Kara

by Vladi the Wizard

Supergirl owned by DC Comics, and Warner. Vladi owned by moi... of course. This is a story about what happened when Harry met Sally.... er, I mean, when the wizard met the superheroine, that led to one of the greatest ... ahhh... love stories (yeah... that's the ticket!) in our genre! Of course, they are from two different worlds, quite literally. Of course, in the story telling I am going to use terms and words and measurements (etc) that you are all familiar with, and not what the various characters would use/say/think, as a way to make things easier for all of use "in the translation". Also, the time frame that I will be using is when I first became aware of Supergirl, which was with Adventure #400, which was published wayyyy back in 1972! (Yup, she gave birth to the pervy old wizard back when he was 11 years old!) I am also putting this in the time frame when Linda Danvers left Stanhope College and moved to San Francisco. And, of course, this is taking place upon a world not exactly our own. I hope you enjoy!

Chapter Ten - Just What Does Normal Mean To A Superheroine?

The wizard named Vladimire could not recall when he had ever been in a physically unconscious state for this period of time. Normally, he would of performed a spell in order to bring himself out of that state, but as the hospital was taking care of him, he was satisfied to just explore with his astral self. Unfortunately, such a condition did prevent him from discovering his new world via taste and smell and touch, and hearing was hindered much like he had his head underwater. But, visually it was better, as that he was also able to view the auras of others.

Even inanimate objects had auras, Vladi noted, especially those that were electrical in nature. Rocks and plants even gave off residual radiations of energy that they absorbed from the sun or nearby energy sources, so everything seemed to have a faint glow of energy around them. Such were the energies that magic uses were able to manipulate for their purposes, it just depended upon the skill of the practitioner and the level of the energy that the item had. However, it was easier to see such energies while in an astral state than to effect those same energies mystically, at least he was finding it so on this world called Earth. He felt that it was more to do with his lack of understanding of this planet than by the lack of any magical properties that it may have, as he has discovered a number of very powerful lei lines of energy in San Francisco and it's region, and could only imagine that more of them were within the 'state' of California that the city San Francisco was a part of, in the 'country' of The United States, which was the nation which the land belonged to.

But, while all the energies seemed to have a commonality to them, being of the Earth and affected by that planets internal energies and the energies that it receives from it's star and it's place in space, the aura that he sees coming off Supergirl is unique. Not just in it's level of power, but also in it's 'taste and texture', as she is from another planet from another star system. Indeed, from his investigations, it is the difference between the two star systems that gives her such great powers and abilities on Earth, though at this time he is not exactly clear on how such things could be. He wasn't an expert in astrology or astronomy, but he could see that the truth lay in her experiences upon the Earth. Now he was looking forwards to following her and to see just how such experiences actually play out, in regards to the interplay of the energies of her, and her surroundings, and what (and who) she interacts with.

Supergirl didn't know why she was stopping by Saint Mary's anymore. The doctors and nurses had told her that they would keep a good look over him, and from all indications, there was nothing to show that they hadn't been giving the mysterious Mister Meyer their upmost attentions. They had also said that they would let her know if there was any changes to his condition, but she didn't point out to them that she wasn't exactly in the phone book. Unlike that dark crusader in Gotham City, she didn't have a dedicated signal light to alert her for when there was important information for her. In some ways, she thought that her super abilities was actually a hinderance, because people seem to assume that they (super powered folks) have some sort of super ESP, so that they know what is always going on in their minds.

Kara sighed as she lightly and absent-mindedly stroked her long fingers along the back of Vladi's hand, wishing that she did have such ESP, so that she could discover what was going on in the head of her mystery man. Was there anything left in there after his getting shot in the head? Fortunately, it was a glancing blow and that the bullet didn't penetrate his skull, but the human brain was a very mysterious organ, the doctors kept telling her. If only she could have one half of one percent of the omnipresent abilities that some people credited her and her cousin with having, then she would be able to actually help with this man. But, she felt helpless in that she was not able to do anything for him, other than hold his hand, night after night for a few minutes here and there. She took a tissue from the stand next to his hospital bed and dabbed away a tear.

"Oh, stop it, Kara. Why are you crying over someone you don't even know?" she chastised herself quietly. She knew that it wasn't for him that she was really crying, but for herself, and her inability to do anything. The most powerful woman on Earth, able to lift battleships, and to shrug off cannon shells, and melt steel girders with just a look, was unable to get a man to open his eyes from an endless slumber. She crumpled up the tissue and threw it into the room's garbage can and stood up. She decided that the best way to get over feeling sorry for herself was to head on out and do something to help someone else, since she was of no help to Mister Meyer. She shook her head at that as she went towards the roof, and then launched herself into the air, and headed towards the Tenderloin district.

Vladi easily kept up with the flying superheroine as she soared over San Francisco towards the north east. He didn't have to expend any energy with a flying spell as his astral form was able to move at the speed, and direction, of thought. He looked down at the nighttime landscape of the city, and observed the flow of the energies, and the different 'flavors' that existed in the various regions and areas. Some would have a more creative 'taste' of the auras where the museums and libraries were, while other sections were more about trade, and other parts of the city were more about fun and entertainment. The city gave it's energy, and took it's energy from it's people, and the city, like the people, was a living thing.

The wizard then noted that Supergirl was flying towards a section south of the famous "Nob Hill" which was always seeped in an aura of violence and hardship. He had not explored such places where he could tell that those with more evil in their hearts roamed the streets, preying on those weaker than themselves. He was able to see such auras on people, those that are more 'evil' in nature, and those were the type of people that fed this part of the city very strongly. He knew from his watching of the television machine that those that preyed on the weak were often called "criminals" and that they were guilty of breaking laws. Vladi was often times confused about 'crime' because it seemed like different people were treated different ways regarding breaking of laws, but he hadn't really been able to figure out that sociological aspect of San Francisco... yet.

Supergirl decided to check out the area of the Tenderloin district. It was the most heavily crime ladened area of San Francisco, a hot bed of robberies and assaults. Most of such things were completely beneath her abilities, but not every crime is committed by a super criminal or mastermind villain. Plus, every citizen of the city is needing of peace and security at all times, not just when the fate of the Earth was at stake.

The blonde bombshell soon was over Nob Hill and floated slowly over the darkened alleys of Tendernob (as it was sometimes called), and used her super hearing and keen eyesight to spot any wrong doings, unaware that she was being closely observed. Just then a couple of shots rang out, and Supergirl paused in mid-air and turned to locate the direction of the shooting when more shots were fired from a little ways away from the first, then the whole block seemed to erupt in gunfire.

"Another gang war," Supergirl said to herself and then flew down towards the fight faster than a speeding bullet, leaving Vladi's astral self far behind. Two groups of young gangsters, one from Little Saigon and the other from the a new gang that has been working to establish itself by first taking control of the drug trafficking of the Tenderloin. The gang from Little Saigon was not willing to give up their territory, and had brought some heavy firepower to keep their turf their own.

An invisible tornado whipped down the street, and the two gangs were momentarily blinded by the flying dust and debris that burst all about them, which the flying astral form of Vladi used to track where his flying superheroine target had went. He quickly went towards the sound of the yelling and cursing gang members, taking in the languages of Vietnamese on one side of the battle line, and English on the other. They no longer seemed to be cursing at their opponents, but about the strange storm that had come up and blinded them.

When they were finally able to see after wiping the dust and grains from their eyes, they were shocked to see Supergirl floating between them. The two gangs immediately turned their attentions away from their opponents and onto the enemy that threatened them all. Supergirl gave them a smirk as she floated several feet off the ground and the gunmen on either side of her started to fire at her instead of each other. Supergirl slowly turned in the air, and used her heat vision to melt the ends of the gun barrels as bullets bounced off her body. Men cried out as some were injured by ricocheting bullets and others injured by guns that exploded when their barrels were welded closed.

In moments a dozen men on either side of the battle line were writhing on the ground, holding various parts of their bodies. A stern look went across Supergirl's beautiful face as she quickly checked the wounded, then saw that no one had any serious injuries then concentrated on the few that were still on their feet. She saw that the English speaking skinheads were armed with modern military grade weapons, while the Vietnamese thugs were just armed handguns and a few older AKs and SKS rifles. Vladi watched in great interest the aura shades of the gunmen change from a steady red to being interlaced with yellow fear. Supergirl's aura was a fiery white with traces of noble blue within as her aura then shot through the red spots in the street, which suddenly flared yellow before slowly dying into a simmering orange as the men were all knocked unconscious by the Kryptonian Valkyrie.

The invisible wizard slowly wafted over the battle scene, quiet now but for some low moans and soft cursing from those men still conscious. He saw though that they were not able to do any thing further to hurt anyone else as Supergirl landed then imperiously walked past the groaning goons to the nearest payphone, and dialed in a special number that gave her direct access to police dispatch (without having to put in any coins) and told the dispatcher about the gang fight and that a van would be needed to be sent to her location, as well as a few ambulances.

Kara felt good when she hung up the phone. It wasn't much, but it was enough to keep her mind off of her inadequacies about the man she had left in the care of Saint Mary's hospital. She kept an eye on the gang members until the first pair of squad cars arrived on the scene, and with a brilliantly white toothed smile and a wave, the long legged heroine leapt into the sky, and flew towards the bay.

Chapter Eleven - Enter Matrix-Beta

Deep under the surface of the San Francisco Bay, a robot waited. It did not know how long it had been within the cold waters, but time did not mean anything to it as it spent its days going around the bay and collecting material from the sunken ships and pieces of abandoned equipment and tossed away garbage from the silk and muck to incorporate into it's body.

Matrix-Beta was a robot from a lost alien civilization. Lost because that information was within the damaged section of it's computer brain, that was damaged long ago when it fell from space to splash down into the bay. The few native indian inhabitants that saw the fireball, thought it was a sign from a god that was either pleased with them, or angry with them, depending upon the tribe.
There the robot lay for centuries, before it's self-repair programs detected metal nearby, when a paddle-boat frigate sank during a storm. The Beta sent out a number of smaller drones from within it's chest to gather up pieces of steel and pipe and to bring them back to the master robot and to use such items to repair it, starting with the injured section of it's head.

As time went on, the quality and type of the materials dropped into the bay from containers washed overboard ships to crashed aircraft to improve and enlarge the robot. Lately, there was high grade wiring and then circuitry which the drones were able to gather up and use to upgrade the robots various systems. They were also able to collect some radioactive waste that was in large drums to manufacture into a power source, and the Matrix-Beta was finally able to move on it's own, but keep itself deep underwater as it sent scout drones up to investigate the world around itself, taking and collecting vast amounts of information, especially in regards to warfare.

On occasion a robot would be caught in it's mission, and after a battle with the Earthly forces be crippled or destroyed. The Matrix-Beta was not concerned with such, as it was able to make many more of the various drones to replace the ones lost. However, those that captured such drones, were able to learn from the robots, just as the drones learned from the humans. Mostly such captured drones were confiscated by the United States government, though a few were captured by other organizations, and thus used to boost their own technological programs. One of those was captured and collected by The Council out of Chicago, who would eventually reverse engineer the robot to create a powerful enforcer for their gang (but that is another tale for Supergirl).

Soon, the alien computer brain was able to repair itself, which was the hardest function for the robot to perform, and soon was able to replace it's outer shell and structural components with a new metal that was created within it's internal miniature factory. Using the radioactive materials collected, it created an alloy of high grade steel with aircraft aluminum, which was then superheated with the nuclear material into an alloy it designated 'Tylenmium', which was able to withstand great forces, up to 12 million pounds of pressure per square inch, making it effectively invulnerable to damage.

Still, the robot sit within the muck of the bay, only sending out drones now and then to investigate it's surrounding or to seek out any new materials, but now seeking only those materials that were exceptional or remarkable. And thus it was, that one of the drones came upon a glowing green bowling ball that radiated an energy that until then had not been detected or investigated. The small drone carried the kryptonite artifact (that was last seen used in Adventure #400) back to the Matrix-Beta, which then incorporated it into itself. Then it discovered that the material was called kryptonite, as pieces of the destroyed planet Krypton were called, from the drones latest investigations, which coincidentally told the Beta that there were a couple of Kryptonians left alive on the planet Earth, one of them a female that was operating out of the San Francisco region.

The information was fed into the robot's computer brain, and an old till now abandoned sub-routine program came to the fore of the Matrix-Beta's functionality. To acquire and deliver other species to it's maker. Until now, none of the species of Earth have triggered this program so the giant robot was content to just stay underwater and continue to improve it's form and systems. Now, it finally had a program priority that would bring it out of the bay and into the light of San Francisco, and that was to defeat and capture Supergirl.

Chapter Twelve - You Say Robot, I Say Golem

Vladi saw the Matrix-Beta before Supergirl did. That was primarily because Supergirl was not looking for a threat to come up at her from under the water of the bay, while the wizard's aural vision was more attuned to the movements and changes of various energies as he followed the lithe form of the flying superheroine over the dark cold waters of the San Francisco Bay. He paused in mid-flight to look down at the waters, to better examine the energy building. He had not seen such an energy pattern before, but then he had never been over this section of the bay, so he did not know if such a thing was common for this particular spot.

The energy was much more powerful than he had seen outside of power plants, and had some signatures in common with some of the military vessels that he had seen coming into the bay on occasion under that spectacular golden bridge. Vladi momentarily thought about going down into the waters to investigate closer. It wasn't something that he normally did, because the humans very rarely did anything under the water on this planet, other than use it for some of there under-water military vessels called 'sub-mare-eens'. The humans were pretty much uncomfortable with doing anything under-sea, except transiting, though they did not have any problems building things on top of the waters, especially bridges or drilling platforms.

Just as Vladi was getting ready to go underwater, he saw that the large energy source suddenly sent out a number of high energy objects from it. Blinking with curiosity at this strange occurrence, he watched as the objects erupted from the water and shot up towards Supergirl. They were golems! At least, what he recognized as golems, though they did not have the magical signature of an animated creature that he normally would see around golems. They were not very big, only about three feet tall, though very thick and blocky, with short stubby legs and arms. It was made out of some sort of metal, that appeared to be steel but had a different energy 'taste' to it. Hot bluish flames shot from their feet, and their hands were made of three sharp and long fingers. They did not appear to have much as to facial features other than a slit for their mouths under two round glowing eyes. It was the eyes that really interested him, in that they were glowing a very brilliant emerald green, with a very odd energy signature. The energy almost seemed to be similar to what he saw coming from Supergirl, but only in it's underlying type of commonality form. The green energy mystified him, and he wanted to examine it closer but there was no time to leisurely investigate anything as things started to happen very quickly.

Kara heard the water surge behind her and then the whooshing of rockets as she pulled up in a hover and spun around, to see a handful of robots bursting out of the waters of the bay. It didn't take her long to determine that the small metal humanoid flying robots were aggressive because round portholes opened up at their chests, and they each launched three missiles at her from within them. Supergirl's long blonde hair whipped about in the wind that gusted over the waters as she frowned towards the robots that were rapidly advancing towards here. However, the missiles were flying even faster in corkscrew fashion straight towards her. Two brilliant red lines shot from dazzling blue eyes and in a moment half of the missiles had exploded from Supergirl's laser like heat vision.

The missiles were small, only about a foot or so long and no thicker than a thumb, but they were still very powerful, as the alien designed warheads used radioactive material that the Matrix-Beta had scrounged up from the ocean depths. Supergirl wasn't too worried about them, though did go into a twisting flight to avoid the quick darts of destruction, which exploded when their proximity fuses were triggered. The superheroine avoided half of those explosions, but four of the missiles exploded very close to her despite her flight to escape.

"UUUugggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! AAAaaaaaauuuhhhhhhh!!" Supergirl was surprised by the amazingly strong impact of the explosions that rocked her lithe body as the missiles bracketed her. Vladi watched in amazement as the previously invulnerable blonde goddess was suddenly slammed into a standstill in mid-air, her spectacular body twisting and arching from the blasts impacts.

Kara shook her head to clear the cobwebs that fluttered across her senses. She wasn't really hurt by the explosions as much as caught off guard by them. She was shocked that such small missiles would be able to rock her the way that they did. Just then the five small flying robots converged on her and slammed into her from different angles before she could prepare herself.

"Ggggggggggguuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhh!!" Supergirl grunted at the impact of the robots that quickly clamped around her long legs and onto her forearms, as the fifth slammed into her back then wrapped it's arms around her neck. The superheroine then brought her arms together with great force, and though the robots were strongly built, they were not able to resist being used against each other as clubs, and the two robots on her arms disintegrated into a thousand pieces which dropped into the bay. Supergirl started to feel a bit funny, and recognized it as the effect of green kryptonite. She looked down at the robot on the front of her right leg and saw that it's eyes were glowing green, and knew then that she was in even bigger trouble.

Vladi moved about the battle scene in his intangible state, unable to do anything more than watch and listen as Supergirl used her super-breath to freeze the robot on her right leg, encasing it and her leg in a block of ice. She then slammed her left boot into the block, which exploded into a multitude of icy shards which then splashed down to the water below. The invisible wizard then saw that Supergirl's troubles were not decreasing but actually increasing as he saw a huge giant metal golem lift up from the dark waters of the San Francisco Bay. He could see that the smaller golems were copies of this master golem, which Vladi could see was just radiating with more power than he had seen in any single creature on this world so far, with the exception of Supergirl.

"Uurrrrrrkkkkkkkkkkk," Supergirl felt the robot at her back tightening it's grip around her neck, locking on to her like a tick would latch onto a mangy dog, and pulled her head back so that she could no longer use her vision or breath abilities against the robot on her left left. So far the kryptontic effect was minimal on her from the two remaining robots, but she didn't want to take any chances with them. The Kryptonian superheroine then turned and launched herself at high speed towards a construction site that was across the bay where a dock warehouse was being built.

Vladi turned himself and flew after Supergirl, but was just behind the Matrix-Beta, who Supergirl had not detected yet, as she was distracted by the two golems hanging on to her back and leg. The wizard was very impressed by the superheroines warrior spirit, and was giving the creatures a good fight, and already had destroyed three of the five golems. But, he feared that the giant golem following the blonde beauty was going to be much more trouble than it's smaller copies. He didn't think that she was fleeing the huge golem, as she seemed to have an intent upon her visage before she turned away from him, and her aura, while showing some colorations of worry, were not streaked with the yellow of fear. Yet.

Chapter Thirteen - Like A Wrecking Ball

Supergirl hated to cause undue destruction to property, but many times when facing mighty adversaries such things were unavoidable. Thus, she steered the battle towards a place which was clear of people and under construction. She could of stayed over the bay, with nothing at threat there but a possible passing boat, but the robot slowly strangling her was not giving her many options. So, she headed towards San Leandro and the small jut of land that was just south of Bay Farm Island where there was some new land developing taking place.

She saw the steel girding framework of the warehouse construction and tilted her body just so as she rocketed through the steel beams, and was satisfied by a resounding clanging sound and a sudden feel of relief as the robot hanging onto her back was knocked off. Now, to take care of the last leech, Kara thought, as she swooped down to float by a cement mixer. With a kick of her shapely long left leg, she smashed the remaining robot into the massive bell of the truck. The force of the kick knocking the truck over and sending it into the bay, with the robot imbedded into the steel of the concrete mixer.

"Whew!! That takes care of that!" Supergirl exclaimed with satisfaction, before she saw with dread that a huge robot of the same type of the smaller ones land with a earth shaking thud in front of her. It was easily twice as tall as she was, and she knew that it would take much more to take out this robot than the other five.

"And now, to take care of YOU!" Kara then spat out as she launched herself at the robot at super-speed, her fists out to knock it's huge head off of it's massive shoulders. Vladi arrive just a moment after the robot did and watched as Supergirl slammed up into the robot, but was surprised to see that after kicking a thirty ton truck half-way into the San Francisco Bay, she was only able to make the giant robot take a couple of steps back from the immense force, the impact of which shook the ground for blocks.

"What the... oooOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFF!!!" Supergirl gasped as she was grabbed around her trim muscular middle by one of the giant's huge metal hands. She was amazed that she wasn't able to more then make the slightest of dents into the the metal of the robot's head. It obviously wasn't made of just steel she realized then as she brought her hands down to the hand holding her, to apply pressure against the crushing fingers.

"Oh no... you don't... you ... big... metal... ape!!" the sexy superheroine said as she slowly pried the fingers apart and away from her body. It was obvious that the robot was very strong, and she was still feeling the effects of the kryptonite that was in the other robots. The Matrix-Prime shot out a pale yellow light from it's eyes, and used that ray to perform a detailed scan on the struggling heroine. Supergirl did not feel anything of the strange ray that bathed her body, but Vladi was able to see that the energy that came from the golems eyes went through the blonde beauties body and reflected back to the golem, who was apparently using that strange energy to learn more about Supergirl before she could break it's grip.

Kara decided to try a new direction in her battle, and 'flew' down, and burrowed herself into the foundation of the construction site, bringing the giant robot's hand down with her, which then got stuck in the thick concrete, and she was able to make her escape from the robot's hold and it's strange light from it's eyes.

Matrix-Beta was bent over at it's waist, and it's giant computer brain tried to calculate the strange behavior of it's target, which suddenly popped up behind it.

"I hope this hurts you more than it hurts me!!" Supergirl said and then brought her right foot up in a massive kick, right between the robots massively thick metal legs. She knew that it wasn't a matter of kicking a guy in the genitals, since it was a robot, but still a kick in the ass was a kick in the ass, and a glorious super-bright smile lit up her lovely face as she was rewarded by the robot being lifted up and then flipped over onto it's back, landing on an equipment shed and flattening it.

The Matrix-Beta was caught by surprise and off balance, and thus her kick was much more effective against it than her earlier blow to it's head. The robot brought it's head up as it lay on it's back and targeted the Kryptonian female as she lifted up into the air, and brought it's right arm up and out of the ground where it had been caught, with a huge chunk of concrete and rebar in it's hold, which it flung at Supergirl, as it's alien computer brain worked out the information that it gathered from it's scan of her form a moment ago.

"Oh really?! Is that the best you can do??" Supergirl asked in mocking tone, as she punched the two ton piece of concrete that the robot flung at her, blasting the giant slab into grey dust.  She then rocketed up and then circled around the site, using the billowing cloud of the concrete dust as a shield to block the robot's view of her.

Vladi watched from floating overhead as his flying angel turned into a streak of red and blue, which made a long sweeping turn out into the bay and then back again. It was hard for him to keep track of the superheroine as she gained speed, and only because of the distance between he and her was he able to keep his eyes on the female meteor. He watched as the giant golem made it to it's feet and turned as it tried to locate where Supergirl had went, as she was no longer where it thought she was when the cloud of dust dissipated. The invisible wizard saw the golem move much more quickly than it's size would indicate as it turned towards the bay as Supergirl came in like a bolt of lightning.

Matrix-Beta's advanced alien radar system had detected the flying Kryptonian as it stood up and turned towards it's target. Within it's chest the internal robot factory churched, and new mini-robots were created to new specifications that the Beta calculated out from it's earlier scans, as well as the information gathered from earlier scouting missions. It discovered that the small radioactive power source that it had discovered months earlier was actually kryptonite, and that Kryptonians were weakened by the radiation of certain varieties of the destroyed planet which they came from. The type that the robot had within itself was of the green radiation variety, of which Supergirl would be extremely vulnerable to, with it weakening her and removing her super powers. In time, such a material could cause the death of her, but that is not what the robot wanted. Thus, small pieces of the glowing green bowling ball within it's form were sliced into small round and translucent discs, which were placed within the chest cavities of the robotic copies that it manufactured in it's chest.

Supergirl finished her wide sweep at her speed and was was rocketing back towards the giant robot, using her growing speed to add force to her next blow that she aimed to strike against her foe. She flew low to the water, and twin rooster-tails of water shot up behind her along the shockwave of her passing. Full red lips drew back over perfect teeth in a determined grimace as she used her super-quick reflexes to adjust her flight, her small but unbreakable fists closed and before her as the point of her super-spear, as she aimed to crash punch through the robot's giant torso.

"That's it... you bit metal ape... don't move... an inch," Kara muttered to herself as she saw the robot rapidly increasing in size in her sight. She had aligned herself so that when she drove a hole through the robot that she would fly straight on through, and that there was nothing immediately behind it that she would fly into, but instead fly along the Main Street that ran east through the industrial area there.

"Damn..." she then exclaimed as the instant that she was expecting to crash through the robot, it was no longer there. Matrix-Beta had calculated her speed and direction and closing rate and then
simply stepped aside as Supergirl flashed beside it. She flew half a mile past the robot by the time that she was able to slow her flight and to pull up and then turn around again, to see that the robot's chest was opening up and then five more miniature robots darted from inside into the air.

"Not more of you little jokers..." Supergirl sighed, as she looked around her for something to use to her advantage as the five smaller robots split apart, and flew towards her at high speed, to come at her from left, right, above, below, and behind. Using her super-sight she saw that they had the glowing green eyes of their predecessors, but unlike the first group of five, this handful made her skin grow cold. For where the first set had missiles that shot from the portholes in their chest, these five instead had glowing green discs in their chests, and she knew that they would be much more dangerous, and that she would have to take them out fast, and at a distance... before they got to her! Unfortunately, she saw how fast they were flying to box her in, and knew that her time was rapidly running out in which to take the battle to them, before the robots brought the battle to her!
