Chapter 1- The Easy Way

A slight breeze blew as the heroines made their way towards the entrance. It was early November and the air was blowing in from the north putting a chill on the area. They waited for the last night of the carnival and when it closed up and all the customers had left they made their way towards it.

“How close do you have to be to ….you know…do it?”, the woman asked.

“Not too much further, I’d rather be safe than sorry.” she answered.

The two women walked closer to the mob that had assembled. They were hoping for an easy outcome, although they both doubted that it would actually happen.

Side by side they entered Reverend James Traveling Carnival. The woman on the left was dressed in her white spandex costume that covered her torso; she had a black dragon emblem in the middle of her chest. Her long black hair ran down her back and stopped right before her luscious behind. Her black boots and black mask completed her costume.

The woman at her side was wearing her famous green costume; it consisted of a spandex wrap that covered her breasts and a miniskirt that barely covered her bottom. She had black fishnet stockings that ran down into her green calf high boots. Her brown hair hung down around her shoulders and her green mask framed her brown eyes. The mob they were walking toward were very familiar with the Dragon and Whisper and what they were capable of.

The crew standing in front of them looked to be a rag tag collection of men if there ever was one. Most of them looked dirty or unkempt and seemed to be in need of a fresh bath. They ranged in age from 18 to 60, and had all kinds of sizes represented. Some of them were hulks others small and skinny. They numbered about 40.

“Looks like they were waiting for us. Hopefully this will go well, if not we’ll have some issues.” said the Asian heroine.

“I owe them.” thought Whisper as she prepared to use her power. “I left them out there alone when I should’ve been with them. It’s time for me to help them.”

Her mind flashed back to when they had met to prepare for this mission. When she had heard what Dragon and Lightning had suffered she felt like jumping off of the building they were on. She had been in a cheap hotel room with a married man when they were out fighting for their lives in the name of justice. Now she had to make it right.

“It should go fine Dragon. Just keep your eyes on them and let me do my thing. Then we’ll find this Preacher.” They stopped about 100 feet in front of the mob.

Whisper looked at the mob. Most of them were holding a weapon of some sort in their hands. Some had pickaxes, others had iron pipes, and some had lengths of wood. She was sure there were some knives out there too. “Here goes nothing” she said to Dragon and closed her eyes and sent her force towards the mass.

Dragon glanced at Whisper and noticed the change in her face. Her eyes were squinted shut and her mouth was frozen in a grimace. The amount of people she was trying to subdue was having its effect on her.

She looked back towards the mob and they seemed to be confused. Some of them glanced up into the air others just swayed back and forth. Others were still glaring towards them.

She looked back towards Whisper just as she opened her eyes and shouted.

“PUT YOUR WEAPONS DOWN!”

Everyone with a weapon dropped it onto the ground.

“PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR AND POINT THEM TOWARDS THE SKY!”

The crowd did exactly what she said.

Dragon was amazed at what she was seeing. “What a fantastic ability”, she thought to herself. She glanced back towards Whisper and could see the struggle the heroine was having controlling such a large crowd.

“CREATE A PATH FOR US TOWARDS THE TENT!”

The crowd parted like the Red Sea before Moses.

Now they could see the opening of the tent straight ahead.

Whisper stumbled, but the Dragon grabbed and steadied her. “Are you ok Whisper? I will accompany you into the tent. Forget the plan.”

“No, no. I’m fine, you need to watch the crowd, if they were to snap out of this while we’re in the tent we’d have no warning. I must do it alone.”

“We have back-up. They can watch the mob. Let me come with you.”

“No, we need to know immediately if they begin to stir. We’re wasting time. I’m heading in. Wait here at the front if they begin to wake yell to me. I should be right out anyway.”

“Please be careful, we really don’t know what we’re dealing with. The man is a monster.”

Whisper smiled at the Dragon and answered. “I’ll be fine, his crew is disabled and he’s like 150 years old. Don’t worry.”

With that she turned and ran towards the entrance of the tent.
